Cancer ranks 41st in Aiken County cancer rates study

The 2001 2002 Cancer Facts and Figures shows Aiken County ranks 41st of 46 counties for all cancer sites in a four year 1996 to 1999 rate. It estimates 270 cancer deaths in 2002 and 510 new cases countywide with prostate 85, lung 85, female breast 60 most prevalent. State totals: 7 730 deaths and 17 375 new cases.
