Aiken man charged after Windsor shooting and assault

Aiken County man Phillip Lee Kinard Jr. is charged with armed robbery and assault after a violent incident at a Ween Road Windsor residence. Deputies say Kinard pistol whipped the victim during a fight over a rifle and gun. He is jailed at the Aiken County detention center as the investigation continues.

Shoutfest marks 10th anniversary in Aiken area

The annual Shoutfest gospel festival returns Sept 15 at Peery Memorial Park featuring national and local artists led by Koryn Hawthorne and Dorothy Norwood. WAAW 94.7 sponsors from 11 am to 5 pm with 70 vendors, inflatables, Home Depot workshop, and rides. More than 6,000 attendees last year.
