Family of teen killed by police petitions S C Supreme Court
The Hammond family asks the South Carolina Supreme Court to remove Solicitor Chrissy Adams from the probe into Zachary Hammond's July shooting by Seneca police. They argue a conflict of interest exists as Adams' office relies on local law enforcement to investigate, and claim bias after requests to unseal juvenile records. The DOJ will review the case, with both the officer and Hammond identified as white.
