Wendi Wainright, 24, was found fatally shot outside a mobile home on the Atomic Highway in Beech Island. A 24-year-old and a 29-year-old were at the scene as investigators from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office probe the fatal shooting.
A North Augusta resident reported an assault and shots fired at her home on Atomic Road after a man in his 40s knocked and asked for her name. Other notes include laundry theft at Fast Wash on Augusta Road, a hit and run near Airport Shell, two juvenile reports of exposure by a man in a small white pickup, a state inmate turning in a pistol at the recycling center, a child neglect case on Aiken Road, a man with crack cocaine dropped by an officer, and a burglary at the ABC store on Richland Avenue. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office and state agencies are investigating.
