Autauga farmer cuts United States maze for teaching students
Alabama farmer Ted Johnson carved a 12 acre cornfield maze in the shape of the continental United States to educate schoolchildren about geography and farming. Each state area holds a metal stake with the flag capital nickname state bird and joining date. The maze opens to school groups weekdays and to the public on weekends. A nearby petting zoo and farm work demos accompany the visit.
