Aiken Marine volunteers for Okinawa beach cleanup
Aiken native Lance Cpl. Bobby D. Johnson volunteered his time while stationed on Oki nawa to join the Okinawan community in cleaning beaches. He is a motor transport operator with III MEF and a 1995 graduate of Aiken Academy. The cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup program active since 1989 and coordinated on Okinawa since 1992. Johnson emphasizes keeping Okinawa clean as guests, with the Marines supporting environmental stewardship and regional security.
