The annual quilt show at the Aiken County Historical Museum runs daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday and will close Friday to return the quilts. The final mini workshop is tomorrow from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a padded picture frame for seven dollars. Call Mary Ann Thompson at 649-4658 for reservations or info.
Registration is open for a Christmas decorations and gift making workshop scheduled from November 13 to 15 at Hickory Knob State Park in McCormick County. The $15 fee covers registration with nominal material charges. children under 13 must be with a guardian.
The Pilot Club of Aiken offers a flag kit with a 3 x 5 flag a holder and a 6 foot pole with an eagle for 10 dollars. Proceeds support the Tri-Development Center of Aiken. For purchases contact Kellah Cleckley or Jo Edmunds.

The publisher notes 51 million copies sold in 25 languages could stack 114 Everest heights high.
The Aiken County Arts Council and USC Aiken present FRANCESCO SCA VULLO THE AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE at the Etherredge Center from Friday to November 18 with a 5 PM opening and light reception. The show, part of the Visual Arts Touring Program, features Scavullo's 1981 ballet photography in murals and portraits.
Aiken native Anne Lattimore will show new etchings and original works at Southside Gallery this Sunday. She will appear in person from 3 to 7 p.m. to meet the public. Her polo scene paintings are widely exhibited at polo clubs nationwide. She also paints flowers children and landscapes and has studied at Augusta College the University of South Carolina and the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida. She teaches art at Rose Hill Art Center.
Nominations are being accepted for the 1986 South Carolina Mother of the Year Award. Entry blanks available from Mrs. Sidney Stokes in Orangeburg with a legal-size return envelope. Criteria include motherhood, active religious member, community involvement, and children with the youngest at least 15. postmark by January 15.
The Aiken Panhellenic Alumnae Association hosts a style show and bridge party on Tuesday November 12 from 7 30 to 10 30 p m at the Thoroughbred Inn USC Aiken. Proceeds fund a USC Aiken junior scholarship. The event features sports fashions from Houndslake Country Club pro shops. Dessert and door prizes follow. Tickets are 3 50 per person through Mrs Harry Johnston at 648 4384.
VFW Post 5877 sponsors a Masquerade Ball this Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Ken Bailey's band will perform. Prizes of 25 dollars will be awarded to the best dressed man and woman. Tickets cost 5 dollars per person or 9 dollars per couple and are sold by VFW members or at the door.
