A World Series dispute led to a stabbing that killed 34 year old Gordon Lee Coker of Cayce. He died after surgery at Lexington Medical Center. His uncle is jailed. Sheriff James Metts reported the incident occurred Thursday night. In a separate note, South Carolina drivers face a possible 12 percent increase in high-risk insurance fees as the Reinsurance Facility runs a 13.7 million dollar deficit in the first nine months of its fiscal year.

Cities Ai ken and North Augusta have not mailed yet while final millage rates are set. About 12,000 unsettled appeals remain. those taxpayers will be billed at 80 percent of actual tax with payments due by Jan 5 to avoid penalties.
