Coon Pie Supper Ends Half‑Century Run in Small Town
In Middlefield Massachusetts the Ladies Aid Society held the last Coon Pie Supper after decades of gatherings. The dinner drew about 160 people including longtime couple Daniel and Barbara Smith who recalled their first date there in 1937. The event, once a major social ritual, dwindled as younger volunteers declined to cook and serve.
