Gregg Park Halloween Carnival At Gregg Park Civic Center

The Gregg Park Civic Center in Graniteville hosted its annual Halloween carnival attracting families for a kid friendly night. Park director John Maietta noted the event runs 16 years and aims for a large crowd with booths, contests, and entertainment by the Southland Express cloggers. Patti Knight said volunteers staffed booths and last year drew 300 to 400 attendees.

Kidnapper seeks new trial in Beech Island case

Kristen Ann Thompson seeks post conviction relief after a circuit court judge ruled no new evidence warrants a new trial. The 19 year old remains in prison after a 7 year sentence for kidnapping. Her co defendant Nick Hall testified he was a state witness in the case.
