SCE&G Raises Natural Gas Rates 9.25 Percent Across South Carolina
The Public Service Commission approves a 9.25 percent rate hike for SCE&G, effective Nov. 1, raising the average monthly bill from 50.59 to 55.27 dollars for residential natural gas customers in the Midlands and Lowcountry. The average annual bill reaches 663.23 dollars. Regulators cited higher gas purchase costs and noted the June 1 to Aug. increases, with 262,000 customers across 30 counties affected.
