Restoration Plans for Arlington House Under Way
The Mount Vernon area may see Arlington House restored to an authentic early American mansion under Quartermaster General supervision with funds from two grants of 10 000 dollars. The plan preserves the portico eight column façade and winged wings, replacing historic originals with period pieces to fit the Colonial style while avoiding a mishmash of later periods.
