Between 10 pm Saturday and Monday morning a vehicle on Richland Avenue had a passenger window broken and a toolbox with $400 of tools, a $140 Cobra radar detector, and $60 in CDs stolen. $100 window damage noted. A black Jeep Cherokee allegedly threw an item at another vehicle on SC 118 causing $100 damage. A burgundy 1989 Chevy truck valued at $5,000 was stolen from Assembly Street, license 782 GIA. Disorderly conduct and assault reported at the county fairgrounds, with a drunken man on a golf cart damaging a concession stand. Several people were arrested after a trespassing and domestic violence incident on Creek Street in Langley. A North Augusta woman faced fraud attempt after purses and credit cards were stolen Friday. A Williston man driving a $1,300 car off a lot faced breach of trust charges after wrecking it Saturday morning.

A Barnwell Family Court judge ordered a 90 day evaluation for a 15 year old accused in the Sonic Drive In killings. Prosecutors seek adult status for the juvenile while Alfred Walker 18 is held on murder charges in the same shooting.
John Jacob Munn seeks a new trial after a post conviction relief filing was delayed by a parallel state Court of Appeals action. Circuit Judge Rodney Peeples paused ruling pending the appellate matter as Munn argues newly discovered evidence could prove he was illegally imprisoned.
Augusta businesswoman Audrey Dye Peel testifies on her contract billing records in a dispute with Westinghouse Savannah River Co. over unpaid fees and alleged overbilling. Peel says she raised her contract from 10 to 12 percent to cover risks while Westinghouse contends she has been paid at agreed rates. The trial, moved from Georgia, continues with claims of breach of contract and blacklisting.
Aiken High School wins the Operation Spirit Link charity contest over South Aiken High, raising more than 16 000 dollars. AHS collects 10132 dollars with 3000 to USC Aiken aid and 2000 to the American Pancreatic Cancer Society. SAHS donates 6537 for a Children's Place van.
