Graniteville reports a 25.1 percent drop in consolidated net sales for the quarter ending Oct. 3 to 54.17 million, with nine months showing a loss of 7.59 million. The firm, a denim and heavy work clothing manufacturer with 5,300 state workers, plans asset transfers and cost reductions while expecting an economic upturn.
Aiken residents will see fire insurance rate reductions after the city earned a Class 2 rating from the Insurance Services Office. Premium cuts range from about 7 to 25 percent depending on building type and location, with larger savings for certain commercial and masonry structures.
