Hawaiian Surfer Loses Hand in Shark Attack on Kauai
AP reports 33 year old Joseph D Thompson was bitten by a shark while paddling near Kauai north shore. He lost his hand and a quarter of his forearm, swam to a shallow reef, then to the beach and was stabilised at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
