Bomb scare at North Augusta fizzles after four hour probe
Sgt. Sean Conley of Fort Jackson's ordnance disposal unit deployed to North Augusta Monday after a report that a hand grenade might be in a trash bin near Old Edgefield Road behind Paradise Bingo and Easy Wash Laun. Two trash items, a can of sardines or a trailer hitch cover, triggered the investigation. Yellow tape blocked the bin area until the threats were removed at about 4 40 p.m.
