State Fair in Columbia tightens entry for underage visitors
The South Carolina State Fair will ban entry to anyone under 18 after 7 pm unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The rule, in effect since Wednesday, follows reports of youth trouble and mirrors a police recommended ban on camouflage and gang-related attire. Metal detectors guard each gate as about 100 officers patrol the fair. In Fort Mill, a 68-year-old from Charlotte died after a weekend horse fall, with coroner confirming the incident.
