Delta Woodside files for bankruptcy seeks buyer
Delta Woodside Industries Inc. says it filed for court protection and will wind down unless a buyer keeps the business running. About 250 workers are at Fountain Inn. a majority remain at a Wake plant. The SEC filing cites higher energy and material costs and global competition, with plant closures in Piedmont Fountain Inn Malden and Pee Dee during the past year.
