Poker ruling could decide South Carolina video gambling fate
The South Carolina Supreme Court sped a ruling on whether a voter referendum will determine if video gambling payouts remain legal for the $2.8 billion industry. Justices agreed to decide two questions: constitutional support for the referendum and which law parts survive if it's unconstitutional.

Hill capital murder case jury pool narrows in prelim questions
Circuit Judge Marc Westbrook says juror questioning on knowledge of the David Mark Hill capital murder case has been streamlined and aims to finish preliminary exams of the pool tonight. Of 69 questioned, 44 qualify for the next round, 25 cannot be impartial, with many expected to be dismissed for death penalty opposition.
