North Augusta officer injured in midnight collision
North Augusta Department of Public Safety Officer Wayne Duke was heading north on Georgia Avenue with siren on when 83-year-old Frank Humphry pulled into his path. Duke’s vehicle caught fire and rescuers freed him. both men were injured. Humphry may need hip surgery and faces a charge for failing to yield.
