The event at The Red Barn on 187 Chime Bell Church Road runs from 7 to 10 p.m. to support restoration of the Gaston Livery Stable, built circa 1893, one of five all-brick SC barns. Organizers and local historians describe its rarity and carriage lift, with live music by Sandlapper String Band and Southland Express Cloggers, Fatz Cafe catering, and a silent auction including Italian limoncello and a leather gun holster.
Community fundraiser features Barn Cats hand painted fiberglass statues to be auctioned. The Gaston Barn Dance runs 7 to 10 p m at the Red Barn 187 Chime Bell Church Road with tickets 20 in advance 25 at the door. The Aiken County PRT Fall 5K Series runs five events from September to December at various locations. Breast and prostate cancer charities are highlighted, with portions of proceeds benefiting cancer groups. Movember themes and prizes in Wagener on November 3 add focus on prostate cancer. The series adds a Kids 1K in each event and offers free entry to breast cancer survivors. Fleet Feet Sports of North Augusta partners with the county to promote outdoor activity.
