A memorial service for Nancy Jean Gerbasi known as The Bead Lady is set for October 13 2011 from 5 to 7 pm at Woodside Plantation Clubhouse in Aiken. The 75 year old artist died suddenly on October 9 2011 in Pittsburgh PA after moving back to Aiken in 2002 to retire. She was a second generation stained glass artist with work shown in galleries and museums and received multiple awards at the Aiken Center for the Arts Spring Show. She supported the Aiken SPCA and is survived by her husband Dr Anthony Bud Gerbasi two children and three grandchildren. The SPCA donation address is listed as 401 Wire Rd Aiken SC 29801.
