Windsor residents watched 50 radio control enthusiasts fly scale models at Heritage Road during the 11th Fabulous Fall Fly In. birds mimic full size aircraft with barrel rolls and dives while several crashes prompted sympathy as owners counted the costly losses.

Aiken County criminal court opens an October session with Judge Charles Whetstone and about 750 cases on the docket. The lead case charges Ulysses Johnson, 45, of Augusta, with assault and battery with intent to kill, armed robbery, and weapons during a crime in the Feb 27 shooting of grocery owner Jordan. Jordan survived a neck wound after the mid afternoon visit from the suspect who cashed payroll checks at the store. Other docket items include three men charged with a series of house breakings and burglary and larceny counts.
