Teens Learn Leadership to Help Friends in Crises
Aiken County teens gain leadership skills through weekend sessions on drugs misuse prevention and crisis counseling. Students from Aiken High, Silver Bluff High, and Ridge Spring Monetta discuss sources of drugs, peer pressure, and pathways to help, including a planned teen hotline and clubs like KADA to promote don’t drink or use. Teachers and coordinators emphasize confidentiality and family involvement, with volunteers training to listen and refer to proper services.
