Aiken man charged in home invasion after Weeks Center case
Aiken County man Christopher A. Daye 21 of Charleston Row charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and firearm possession in a Sharyn Lane home invasion last month. He previously pled guilty to possessing a loaded handgun found at H. Odell Weeks Activities Center in July. Daye remains jailed as investigators pursue additional suspects.

Funeral planned for local soldier killed in Afghanistan
Soldier Willie Harley Jr. 48 of Aiken died after his vehicle hit an IED in Paktika province. Funeral home says arrangements set but date is tentative and held until his remains return from overseas. Harley served with the 122nd Engineering Battalion based in Graniteville and survived by seven children.
