Tritium Released At SRP In Small Plant Incident

A minor tritium gas release occurred today at Savannah River Plant’s tritium facility around 7 40 a m via the stack. Officials estimate 7000 curies with southwest wind 12 to 14 mph and a maximum off site dose under 0 01 millirem. No evacuations or reported personnel exposure. routine monitoring continues.

Tests Show Brown Had PCP In Blood

The Associated Press reports tests indicate soul singer James Brown had PCP in his system when arrested after a two state car chase. Brown, 55, was charged with driving under the influence after a pursuit beginning and ending in Augusta Georgia. A blood analysis confirmed PCP presence per Circuit Solicitor Harte.

Thurmond backs SRP, cites 30 year safety record

DOE Report Cites Reactor Problems at SRP Aiken Facility

A consultants’ study for the Department of Energy finds weather and human error damaged confinement systems at Savannah River Plant reactors and notes repeated electrical equipment failures since 1971.
