Clemson students see NASA rocket launch their wind research
About a dozen Clemson University students watched a 40-foot two stage rocket lift from NASA Wallops Flight Facility Virginia and fall into the Atlantic after a 10 minute ascent. They released a luminescent tracer and aluminumized Mylar to track winds affecting satellite and radio communications, enabling study of wind shear and turbulence. The Germans aided material release. Clemson researchers built their own mechanism and seek to analyze the data.
