First among Trade Center missing declared dead by court
Iris Rothberg’s son Michael Rothberg became the first Cantor Fitzgerald employee declared dead by a court after Sept 11. The family seeks a death certificate for insurance and access to accounts, with a special state Supreme Court panel guiding the process. Officials say 1,202 families applied for death certificates for the 5,219 missing or dead.
