Nixon's Nantucket Visit Sparks Lighthearted Tale
A Nantucket Chronicle recounts former president Richard Nixon arriving unannounced on a 115-foot yacht with Bebe Rebozo and briefly touring the island. He dined at Chanticleer in Sconset with companions, ordered two bottles of Chateau Margaux for about 180 dollars each, and left with a 900 dollar bill. A fishing anecdote closes the piece with a joke about a patient and a second opinion.
