Survived by widower and son Thomas G Wilkinson Hollywood Florida. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at McCall Kirsky Funeral Home Marion. Rantley Funeral Home in charge of other arrangements.

Small Blaze At Walmart in Mitchell Shopping Center
A morning fire at the Walmart store on Whiskey Road in Mitchell Shopping Center caused moderate upstairs storage damage. The Aiken Department of Public Safety reported the sprinkler system contained the flames, with about 30 firefighters on scene for three hours. Investigators have not determined a cause, and the store plans to reopen today. Originally the Big E, the store adopted its current name on August 1.

Car theft and urban blast in Beirut stun city records
A 1974 Buick LaSabre was stolen on Redd Street between 8 and 10:20 p.m. A car bomb in West Beirut near Abu Iyad's offices killed many and injured dozens. At least 15 dead, possibly up to 50, with widespread destruction. Separate incidents include a bank visit robbery netting $88 and a home break in stealing a shotgun and liquor.

Barnwell Plant to Maintain Federal Funding
Allied Nuclear Services AGNS will receive federal funding through Nov 20 to support research and development at the Barnwell plant. Congress approved a $10 million appropriation under a continuing resolution. AGNS says the plant could operate through fiscal year 1982 if funds are renewed. AGNS employs over 300 people.

Burn Victim Identified in North Augusta
Howard M. Wease, 56, of 1908 Raleigh Court North Augusta, is identified as the burned man found in an open field near Colony subdivision. Sheriff Ralph Gunnells said two plastic containers held an inflammable substance near the body, which was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina for ID. Burns appear to be self related.
