Thanksgiving shopping shifts alter Black Friday impact
The National Retail Federation revamps its Black Friday weekend tracking as shoppers spread a 4000 dollar holiday budget across the season and favor online buying. It will no longer report total weekend spending and asks different questions to better reflect actual consumer behavior. More than 151 million people shopped in stores or online, the NRF says, but figures aren’t comparable to last year due to the methodology change.
