Chitlin Strut celebration marks Salley’s 49th year
Salley held its 49th annual Chitlin Strut with a Main Street parade and a busy festival featuring rides crafts jewelry and face painting. Ebony Dunbar and others fried or boiled chitlin snacks from 4 AM to about 5 30 PM while residents enjoyed a car show a dog calling contest and the strut contest. Mayor Bob Salley greeted attendees as thousands passed through gates and the town looked ahead to its 50th anniversary next year.
