Authorities uncovered a large arms cache in a 45 foot van near a trailer park in Bessemer Alabama. An investigator described the cache as sufficient to fight a minor war or a major guerrilla action.
Sheriff Bailey of Jefferson County says investigators found a very large cache of weapons on Birmingham's west side. He states they have no idea who placed them or the intended use, but the arms appear prepared for a revolutionary or violent group.
Fritz von Unruh, 85, renowned for antimilitary novels and expressionistic plays in 1920s Germany, died Saturday of a stroke in Diez. He was a personal friend of scientist Albert Einstein.
A bus carrying holiday travelers in South Sumatra crashed into a railing and plunged into a river, killing 30 people and seriously injuring 10. Most passengers were en route to visit family for the Moslem New Year.

London AP reports Equity, the British actors union, will hire an orgy inspector to oversee sex scenes in movies. The role aims to ensure actors follow scripts during crowded nude scene work, including a The Devils production incident with 50 naked male extras, all amateurs, involving Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed amid five actress complaints.
