Kalmia Court No. 8 honored veterans during Advance Night with H L Eddie Newton and S K James Steeves as royal officials. Rosemary Mathis presented the American Flag, while S K Samuel H J Womack paid tribute. Veterans named include S K Everette Deitz Cammie Murphy James McNeill and John Hutton. Also S K Henry Wilson of Friendship Court No 12 North Augusta was recognized and several members were cited for attending four or more courts statewide this year.

Americans Fall Short of 1990 Fitness Goals
Federal health officials say with five years left the nation likely will not meet the 1990 objectives for physical fitness set by the Public Health Service in 1980. The CDC in Atlanta notes over 90 percent of children aged 10 to 17 should regularly participate in activities that lead to adulthood, but current levels are 66 percent with poor prospects for reaching the target by 1990.

Weekly School Lunch Menu for Dec Week
The school offers a week of meals from December 26. Monday features hot dog with fries baked beans an apple and milk. Tuesday serves tuna salad on lettuce corn fruit bar saltines and milk. Wednesday presents deli sandwich cole slaw peaches and milk. Thursday offers golden chicken bites dips whipped potatoes fruit and rolls with milk. Friday includes hamburger lettuce tomato onion fries mixed jello and milk.
