George Baskett Jr. aged 25 from Aiken was killed by Richmond County Detective Tommy E. Price after an armed robbery at Godfather's Pizza located at 3110 Peach Orchard Road. Price was wounded by a gunshot during the stop around 8 p.m. the same day following a radio alert about the robbery.

Asbestos Burial Plan Faces Taxpayer Cost in Wagener
Aiken County Council voted to bury about 14 000 pounds of asbestos in the Wagener landfill.
