Guardian ad Litem Day Proclaimed by Aiken County Council
Aiken County Council on November 14 declared the last Sunday in January each year as Guardian ad Litem Day to honor volunteers who advocate for children in family court. Pamela Jung led the effort, noting the program now seeks countywide volunteers beyond the City of Aiken and aiming to raise statewide awareness. Cumberland Village Names Jason Stewart New Director
Cumberland Village introduces Jason Stewart as executive director after beginning work in August. A Greenwood native, Stewart previously led an assisted living facility in Greenville and earned a 1998 health care management degree from Lander University. He plans to expand services and aging care stages while enjoying life in Aiken with his wife Amnarea and four children.
