Tree of Hope Lights For Cancer Patients In Aiken Area
The Tree of Hope at the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina in Aiken Regional will be lit Nov 30 to raise funds for cancer patients in Aiken Allendale Barnwell and Edgefield Counties. Donations support SRCF CanHope volunteers who provide emotional support books transportation and medication assistance.

Thurmond FFA Soil Judging Team Advances to National Finals
The Thurmond Technology Center FFA Soil Judging and Land Treatment team earned an expense-paid trip to the National FFA Finals in Oklahoma on May 23 2007 after placing top two at the South Carolina state competition in Anderson County. Team members Samuel Northrop Parker Northrop Kyle Harper and Graham Holson coached by Dan Henderson will compete as Kyle Harper also earned a separate trip to the 2007 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis ashigh individual scorer. The event, co sponsored by Duke Energy Progress Energy SCANA and conservation groups, emphasizes land use soils science and environmental career skills.
