Schifferli Denies Wrongdoing in Pain Drug Prescriptions
Doctor H Allan Schifferli a 48 year old dentist in Aiken faces 257 counts for allegedly issuing controlled substance prescriptions for Demerol to witnesses who testified they injected the drugs. He says prescriptions were for pain and denies falsifying records. Trial resumes tomorrow with U S attorney Marvin Caughman and defense, Etheridge Redd, to follow.

Burglary reported in Aiken targets Big Chick and homes
Aiken Department of Public Safety reports thefts across the area. At Big Chick on Williamsburg Avenue lunch items and beverages were stolen from two freezers. A RCA television with Bodie Hicks label and a 19 inch Sharp set were stolen from homes. Vehicle accessory thefts occurred at Kalmia Plaza and Aiken Automotive. All cases under investigation.
