A Holy Day in Aiken anchors downtown holiday kickoff
More than 50 businesses join Aiken Downtown Development Association and JOY 102.7 FM to sponsor the first A Holy Day in Aiken on Friday November 29. Janet Augeri Morris says the old fashioned celebration features brunch carriages pictures with Mr and Mrs Claus door prizes and activities for children and adults with participating restaurants and local inns. USC ROTC named best in academics and ranks top nationally for naval education and training program.

Helping Hands suspends two during probe
The Helping Hands child care agency suspended two managers amid an investigation of employment practices finances and programming. Chairman Gladys Miller said both are on administrative leave and still paid while the DSS probe, possibly up to 60 days, continues. Peggy Ford runs the facility temporarily under a 30 day agreement.

New kid on our continent Eric Balfour joins Chukker Creek Elementary
