Nixing medical errors at UM Jackson patient safety center
The University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital run a patient safety center led by Dr. David Birnbach to simulate ER and OR emergencies with mannequins and actors. It trains medical staff on error prevention, teamwork and communication amid noted real world injury and overdose statistics.
