Salvation Army Community Thanksgiving Dinner Feeds About 300
Salvation Army volunteers led by Anna Cummings served Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and dessert to around 300 residents at the Community Thanksgiving dinner. Shelter director Bel English praised record volunteer turnout and said some were turned away. Don and Eleanor Armstrong volunteered for the first time, noting the joy of helping others.

Holiday Homes Tour showcases Aiken history and charity
The Aiken Choral Society hosts its 19th Holiday Homes Tour on Saturday December 8 from 4 to 7 pm. Seven historic downtown homes and public sites open to ticket holders with maps from the Aiken County Historical Museum. Tickets are 9 in advance or 10 at the door, with discounts for groups. Proceeds support the semiprofessional chorus and its two annual concerts.

Thanksgiving Day Christmas auction kicks off early season
Rich's Auction launches its seventh annual Thanksgiving Day Christmas auction at the Aiken Jaycees Fair Grounds starting Thursday at 4 p.m. The sale features tractor trailer loads of merchandise including iPods electronics tools and holiday decor with wholesale pricing. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. An additional Christmas auction will be held Friday night at the auction barn with more name brand tools and gifts. Rich's Auction is located at 1121 Windham Way near I 20 and U S 1.
