High School Seniors Create Fire Safety Video for All

South Aiken and Aiken High School seniors Halita Wilson and Andria Baisley produced a signing and narration video titled Signs of Safety. Halita, who has a hearing loss, signs while Andria narrates, aiming to aid children across the district.

Pulver wins statewide award at ATC in 2002 ceremony

Aiken Technical College adjunct instructor Liz Pulver, longtime hazardous materials expert and HAZMAT team trainer, was surprised to win the South Carolina Association for Higher Continuing Education outstanding continuing education non credit instructor award for 2002. Her teaching blends field experience with classroom work for over 20 environment and safety classes, including OSHA and mine safety topics drawn from EPA and DOT directives.

Mead Hall students stage world culture Heritage Day dances

Mead Hall middle school students showcased in a week long Heritage Festival dance program led by French teacher Diane Miller. Fifth graders Libby Rustad Emily Littrell and Mary Taylor Miller represented Russia Cherokee and Puerto Rico. New Headmaster Tim Spurrier expanded activities to all grades with research driven performances.
