Police search QE2 for explosives in Southampton
About 100 troops, police and customs searched the Queen Elizabeth 2 after police questioned 42 people and a 400 pound cache of explosives was found near the dock. Crewmembers reported guards inside the liner as Explosives were used to blast open locked trunks. The Cunard liner, 65 863 tons, has been at Southampton for three weeks and is due to sail Thursday for New York and five months of Caribbean cruises.
