Crash investigators closer to problems
New York crash investigators probe Amer ican Airlines Flight 587 tail structure and wake turbulence from another jet as causes. They study the 27 foot tail assembly pulled from Jamaica Bay and the potential role of composite materials in the crash that killed 265 aboard and up to five on the ground.
