Educator discusses state of our schools in Aiken Rotary talk
Dr. Frank Roberson associate superintendent for instructional services in Aiken County schools spoke at the Downtown Aiken Rotary Club about the long history of public schooling in the area. He cited past criticisms yet noted progress with Basic Skills tests and college entry rates near 70 percent. He answered questions on finances SAT scores pupil teacher ratios and his rise from poverty to local leadership. The Rotary meets at Newberry Hall Thursdays at 12 30 pm interim president Rev Mike Bruce. The county library’s Meet the Author series will feature Dr Phebe Davidson today and Bonnie MacDougal on December 10 with a contact number 642-2022.
