Love in Any Language draws Baptists toward Hispanic outreach
In Aiken County a group of five Baptist churches cross borders to serve a growing Hispanic community. Chris Harbin and his wife started Spanish language worship, English classes, a sports ministry, and a Spanish cine bible study. They opened a weekly late night gym and host Sunday English discussions and worship at Millbrook and Aiken First Baptist. The effort flags how Hispanics mix with locals, from low to middle income workers in meat packing, textiles, child care, and construction.

The plan would require buyers to sign an annexation agreement to receive water and sewer service with notices to realtors closing attorneys and lenders. Council generally approved the idea to surround county land by city limits and allow stricter ordinances to clean up properties while saving landowners money, said chair Rachel Entremont.
