In Darmstadt Germany the Rosetta mission achieved a historic touchdown on comet 67P Churyumov Gerasimenko traveling 41000 mph. Philae bounced briefly during final contact but settled, while data gathered by ten instruments on the lander and eleven on Rosetta aim to reveal amino acids and water clues linking Earth life to space.
