Minor planet named for Samantha Smith by Soviet designer
Moscow AP reports Tass says a minor planet between Mars and Jupiter was proposed to be renamed after Samantha Smith. Astronomer Lyudmilla Chernykh, who discovered No 3147, suggested the change which was endorsed by the International Planetary Center in Cincinnati.
