Langley Pond Loop 5K Set With Mini Health Fair
Residents are invited to the 2nd Langley Pond Loop 5K at Langley Pond Park near the U.S. 1 and Langley Dam Road intersection. Check-in 8 to 8 45 a.m., 9 a.m. start. preregistration on active com for 25 dollars. The course is a 2.8 mile wooded trail funded by Sam s Club of Aiken and GAIT Foundation with a post race health fair featuring Sam s Club Pharmacy and Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A free guided walking tour at 10 15 a.m. will feature Dr Andrew Dyer Owen Clary and Tom Cofer.

The U S Secretary of Defense backed year long events with local partners for the Vietnam War 50th anniversary. The Henry Middleton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution asks churches, businesses, schools and citizens to mark the occasion. On Veterans Day November 11, Aiken churches should ring bells at 1 50 p m and buses, schools and residents should observe a moment of silence for Vietnam and all U S veterans.
