A couple found in the South Edisto River are identified by authorities as Glenn Boatwright 43 and Dianne Boatwright 48 of Ridge Spring. Autopsies will determine cause as investigators treat incident as homicide. Ronnie Kirk, 37, discovered Mrs Boatwright first at Edisto Boat Ramp noon Thursday. He helped by retrieving a tree trimming tool from his pickup as investigators examine the scene.

The final vote in Aiken County bans cash payoffs from video poker machines. Operators threaten protests over the results while planning possible relocation of machines to Edgefield or Barnwell counties.
